Add in the fact that his submission on TUF was a TUF record, he actually asked for someone to update this for him in an interview and i didnt remember my old account info, so i made a new one Isshikogeru (talk) 08:02, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Question: can you please phrase like it says in the template, "please change X to Y", or even "please add X after Y". This makes it easy for those without knowledge of the subject to easily fulfill your request. Also, if we're going to be adding or changing anything in this biography, we're going to need a reliable source that backs up your statement. Thanks. -Atmoz (talk) 17:00, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
For what it's worth, I do believe that is the fastest ever sub on TUF, but this sort of thing needs a source; something that no IP has achieved so far. If Cody has requested this info be put in, then show us the source. Paralympiakos (talk) 17:36, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Thanks, Stickee (talk) 06:45, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The information can be verified in the following interview located at http://www.ultimatefighter.com/full-episodes/tuf-12/the-aftermath-win-or-die —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.159.186.148 (talk) 13:16, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cody has the two fastest submission victories in "The Ultimate Fighter" television show history. In his fight with Sevak Magakian, Cody Mckenzie won via guillotine choke, a.k.a "Mckenzietine" in 18seconds.

Not done: The source provided does not back up the statement. The article will automatically be unprotected tomorrow. If you have a proper source that backs up the statement, feel free to add it then. If you don't, be aware that adding it without a source will likely lead to the article being reprotected. Thanks. -Atmoz (talk) 17:03, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Ultimate Fighter submission record

[edit]

I can confirm that Cody McKenzie's 18-second (not 17-second) win over Stevens was a TUF record for fastest submission. Back on October 28, 2010, I made this edit with a reference that backed up the claim. Stephan Bonnar, in an official UFC video ("The Aftermath - Win or Die") hosted on the UFC's UltimateFighter.com website, stated that it was an 18 second win and an Ultimate Fighter submission record. User:Paralympiakos then reverted the edit because apparently the video didn't work in his country. The video did work in the United States. Unfortunately, two years have past and the video is no longer available. This site also says the time was 18 seconds, rather than 17. Unfortunately, I can't find a still active reliable source that backs up the TUF submission record claim. Since TUF fights are exhibition bouts, it's hard to find reliable sources after the UFC decides to take down their old videos. This blog post from the time states that it was a record, but blogs are not considered reliable sources on Wikipedia. --JHP (talk) 06:06, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This site also says 18 seconds. --JHP (talk) 06:33, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Here and here are the official Nevada State Athletic Commission results for TUF Season 12. They say McKenzie won in 18 seconds, not 17 seconds. Anyone who doubts the submission record claims coming from multiple Wikipedians can check the results for all seasons themselves on the Nevada State Athletic Commission website. (Unfortunately, checking the official results for all seasons to verify a submission record would count as original research.) This page reminds me that in "The Aftermath - Win or Die", Stephan Bonnar said that Stevens had set the TUF knockout record (13 seconds) in an earlier match before McKenzie beat Stevens with the 18-second TUF submission record. --JHP (talk) 07:22, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WSOF 18

[edit]

Date was wrong in the body of the article and had this reference "Cody McKenzie ends short retirement, fights Andrew McInnes at WSOF 18". bloodyelbow.com. 2015-02-03. so I changed it to the correct date and added a new reference.Yojimbo1941 (talk) 19:02, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
