I'll grab this one. I should be able to get to it within the week, if not sooner. Shooterwalker (talk) 14:14, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Offering some feedback on this one.
  • Lead
  • "The narratives revolves around an apocalyptic event threatening the current civilization" -> "The narratives revolve around an apocalyptic threat to all civilization," (grammar and concision)
  • In the third lead paragraph, I suggest repeating the medium of each entry (manga vs. video game) just for clarity. I understand it might feel redundant, but it will help new readers follow along.
  • Overview
  • "warps people" -> "transforms people" (warp can have multiple meanings)
  • I suggest moving the last two sentences of the first paragraph to the end of the second paragraph. It's more helpful to know what the series has in common, before you get into the elements that distinguish the series.
  • This section reads really well otherwise.
  • History
  • "created independent of this policy" -> this is sort of unclear. Did he set out to turn it into a multimedia franchise before Square Enix made that into a general company goal, or did he start with a single project and find it drawn into that strategy? Maybe just state that he planned on both a mobile and console game, and added the manga after the Enix merger, and the new company policy.
  • "The narrative theme of Code Age how people react and behave when terrible events happen around them" -> "The narrative theme of Code Age is how people react to terrible events"
  • You eventually refer to the project getting closed down. It's not totally clear from how you describe the project initially. If it was meant as some sort of online service, it should be made clearer.
  • Reception
  • "behind Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi." -> is this important?
  • "failure of localization" -> failure is not the right word if it was cancelled
  • "launch a franchise in this way" -> make this explicit. (e.g.: "launch multiple projects all at once," or "launch a multimedia franchise with multiple entries,")
  • "as part of a Commanders review," -> maybe drop this, as it takes away from the broad reception of how the series was effected
  • This section is generally well written. But the last paragraph feels like it gets lost in the reception of the individual projects, instead of the series as a whole. This is fuzzy, as there's some disagreement about how to even write about the reception for a series. But my suggestion is to keep each entry's reception brief, and close to the individual summary of each entry / article (e.g.: in the overview). Leave the final reception area for the legacy and impact of the series as a whole.
This is very well written and doesn't need too many fixes. The last issue is tricky, but shouldn't get in the way of this reaching GA status. Shooterwalker (talk) 02:35, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Shooterwalker: Did my best to address the points above. I'd based the reception section on Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy, but I've changed it according to your suggestion. Sourcing this was a bit of a nightmare, since this whole franchise landed with a big damp thud. Code Age is so niche, it makes the original Drakengard look wildly successful and popular by comparison. --ProtoDrake (talk) 11:59, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is a hard one to write but you did a really solid job. Thanks for those edits, and I'm happy to call this a GA. Shooterwalker (talk) 20:24, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
