New stub article: Defunct in 1970?
[edit]It appears from the FSA Mutuals Register, that the legal entity continued to exist until the Nationwide transferred engagements to the Anglia Building Society (that is, the Anglia took it over) to become the Nationwide Anglia. Of course, that simple family tree is confused by the decision of Nationwide Anglia to drop the word "Anglia".
I hope you expand this further soon, as right now there is more history and context of the Co-operative Permanent at the Nationwide Building Society article than here

Change of name in 1970
[edit]The society not in fact defunction in 1970 although it's name was changed to Nationwide. This is what that meant. The date simply means that any information or history past that point would be found on the Nationwide Building Society page.
More information has already been added, not everything can be done in a day.

- Nice improvement already.
Still I would have preferred to see it at Nationwide Building Society, and broken out when it got too long, but what is done is done.--Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 22:49, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
