Clean up
[edit]Guys, this article needs a thorough cleanup/rewrite. It read like the blog of an over-keen hobbyist. I've removed vast amounts of tedious and doubtfully "notable" data, but the remainder still has plenty of room for improvement. ~~~ 86.135.149.174 (talk) 09:41, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
- Two statements in the introduction are particularly unclear and possibly incorrect, but I would rather add clarifications than remove them without discussion. Having said, the first statement is not referenced and the second is rather oddly referenced to a data search. Simply removing them would seem reasonable.
- //On average, the temperature ranges from 18 to 25 °C (64 to 77 °F).//
- What temperature measurement and what type of average? The maximum temperature in the summer seems the only plausible one. It is nothing like that warm in the UK most of the time - as data given elsewhere in the article shows.
- //In the height of summer the Northern Isles can have temperatures around 15 °C (59 °F).//
- Again, which sort of temperature is this? Including whether it is an average or a record. And why is this piece of rather specific information stated just there? (The rest of the paragraph does not seem to have a reference at all, though there isn't anything in it that seems obviously absurd). FloweringOctopus (talk) 07:23, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
