Source: "C. quadriloculare has been identified as an invasive weed. It is a very aggressive shrub that grows rapidly and form dense tickets displacing native vegetation and preventing the establishment of native species."

Bronze-leaved Clerodendrum is grown as an ornamental shrub but it has become naturalised in many locations, in some of which it is viewed as an invasive species.
