I'll take this one. It's in a good state so I shan't have many comments to make. Chiswick Chap (talk) 17:00, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • The diagram is obviously useful here. Unfortunately it has very tiny text, in German, and it's a fuzzy raster version. Better would be an .SVG with English labels... I might lend a hand if I'm feeling strong. Meanwhile it might be worth scaling it up a bit so the labels can be read.
I'll see what I can do; I've had this issue crop up in other GA reviews (eg: Woolwich Ferry) so it's worth doing, provided I can find a decent source. As the image is a JPG, it can't easily be edited like a SVG, although I suspect the original is probably a vector file given the appearance of it. The original uploader, Berndt Meyer has never edited the English Wikipedia, only the German one and Commons. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:23, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Aha, I've found the SVG and put that in with annotated text. Much better :-) Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 22:10, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Might be worth wikilinking the publishers, e.g. Backbeat Books, Elsevier, Chartwell Books.
Sure, don't see why not Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:23, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • 'Notable users': Stevie Wonder deserves a subsection of his own here (the first two paragraphs).
Okay. Wasn't sure about this, but given that the Clavinet is fairly unique in having one prominent user far and above all the others, it makes sense. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:23, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • I guess the other 'Notable users' need a balancing subsection, something like 'Later users'.
I've gone with "others". Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:23, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • I know the 'Effects' section is only short, but it feels as if 'Castle Bar' should have a subsection of its own; is there an image we might use of the device to fill out the section a bit? ... In which case we need a subsection for 'Stomp box' or something to that effect; here there are plenty of available images. If you don't feel like subsections then we could have a small image gallery immediately under the section's text.
I'll have a look and see what else I can find in terms of sources for the Castle Bar mod - although it's been around for years, it's really only Lachy Doley who I know as a prominent user of it. As for images, Docrobbie (talk · contribs) (aka, David Robertson, author of Classic Keys) may have some he can upload. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:23, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a bit more about the Castle Bar mod. As for images, there are loads of pictures of Lachy Doley live and it's his main instrument, but there don't appear to be any free ones, which is a bit strange as his notability is entirely in the Wikipedia era. SilkTork is quite good at digging out appropriate licenced images from Flickr and elsewhere so they can be put on Commons, so I wonder if he's got any comments. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:59, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Is this any good to you: [1] The site is Creative Commons: [2]. SilkTork (talk) 10:56, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Err ..... that's an M-Audio Keystation MIDI controller, not a Clavinet. I was thinking of something like this (that image is non-free). Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:03, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, another look turns up free images of him playing keyboards that I've double checked and are not clavinets, or creative commons images of him with a clavinet but which don't allow commercial use. SilkTork (talk) 11:34, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, we could use one of him cropped to exclude the instrument ;-} or ask around for a photo, but in any case the article is now a GA. Chiswick Chap (talk) 12:28, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks - it would be a nice to have in this article, but as you say, it doesn't really fail the GA criteria which says "The presence of media is not, in itself, a requirement.". Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:10, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's great.
  • "to bend the pitch" may not be obvious to readers. Perhaps wikilink and gloss pitch bend?
Done Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:23, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Super, very nearly there now. Chiswick Chap (talk) 13:24, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the review! Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:10, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
