Hello! I'll be reviewing this article, could take up to a week. --Cerebellum (talk) 09:17, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
- Prose: No issues.
- Coverage: No issues, you do cover a lot about Nero’s reign and rise to power but I think that info is inseparable from Octavia's story.
- Stable: Yes.
- Neutral: Yes, you balance out the ancient sources with more measured modern opinions. You could add a sentence saying that the ancient sources are biased, but I think that point comes across on its own from what you've written.
one that Agrippina had attempted to use as leverage in power struggles with her son.
This is jarring because up until now we have been reading about Agrippina's schemes on behalf of Nero. I would add another sentence, something like,Nero's relationship with his mother deteriorated after he became emperor and the two became adversaries.
- Images: Article is well illustrated, and images are appropriately tagged. No non-free images.
- References: Referencing is meticulous and sources are of high quality. Good mix of modern scholarly sources and ancient sources. Only issues are with the "in fiction" section.
- Referencing is weak for the third paragraph of "in fiction". I know it is difficult to find sources for this kind of thing, maybe cite reviews of Claudius the God and the German novel?
In Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's musical...
The Vassar press release is not a great source, and it doesn't support the statement "She was played as a frightened, unwilling bride." Unless this musical has gotten some other coverage, I would remove the whole paragraph. --Cerebellum (talk) 11:18, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
@Egsan Bacon: Review complete, there are only a couple issues. Please take a look at my comments and let me know what you think. --Cerebellum (talk) 11:20, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
@Cerebellum: Thank you for the review, I appreciate you taking the time to review the article as well as your suggestions.
- Added sentence establishing the conflict between Nero and Agrippina prior to the paragraph on Britannicus' death
- Added references for Claudius the God and the German novel
- Cut the paragraph on the Shiek/Sater musical
Please let me know if you think the changes are sufficient to address the issues you found. Egsan Bacon (talk) 04:25, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
