Parish council
[edit]I am not sure where the idea that Clapham and Patching share a parish council - not according to West Sussex website! Peter Shearan 17:12, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
- From me I'm afraid. I lived there for the first eighteen years of my life, still pop back occasionally to see my parents. I'm here this weekend, actually. I just asked my mother, who knows about these things, and it turns out you're correct, they are separate. Apologies. Angmering 17:18, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
UFOS and Mysterious Deaths
[edit]I am surprised there has been no mention of the "problems" associated with Clapham Wood.In the late 1960s and the early 1970s there was a spate of UFO sightings associated with Clapham Wood. There has also been a history of dogs disappearing in the wood and being later found dead. Also the rumour over an occult group called "Friends of Hecate involved in animal sacrifice. And then to top it , the mysterious disappearance of the Parish reverend Harry Neil Snelling. Supposedly "Vanished" and when his body was found it was impossible to determine cause of death.........
- If there are some published sources it can be added... I do remember there was one professionally published book, The Demonic Connection, that went into it, and various local newspaper reports too — mum still has a 1986 Littlehampton Gazette one at home, I believe.
- All I can say is I've never seen anything, and none of our dogs have ever gone missing. :-) Angmering 11:09, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
