- History: when was the grid street network planned? By who?
- This is covered in Christchurch Central City.
- What is the width of the mall?
- 20 m (as per the infobox).
- Check relevant info in this study by Jan Gehl

World first?
[edit]Regarding the claim of this being a world first, a reader of The Press posted the following comment under an article:[1]

Shipping containers have been used as both "pop up" malls and established bazaars for many years.
Early examples include a 7000 Shipping Container Bazaar in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, with more modern offering that include a Tourist based Container City / Mall in Cholula Mexico two hours outside of Mexico City, the Container City in London, and a vast Boxpark Proposal in Shoreditch London.
Very Avant Garde Christchurch. Kudos.
I've found photos of the Dordoi Bazaar in Bishkek on flickr, for example this, this and this. Schwede66 04:15, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
