Back in 2010, this page was moved into Citrus hybrid, which was in turn merged into Citrus taxonomy. That page became unwieldy and dated, and so has undergone a major revision, but the extensive listing of Citrofortunella no longer fits with the style of that page. For this reason I have decided to spin Citrofortunella back out. While there seems general agreement that kumquats are Citrus, rendering the name Citrofortunella an invalid genus name, but Citrofortunella still represent a sort of common name for the group, and there is a place for a page on this group, both for its own benefit and to move the awkward list out of the taxonomy article. If the name truly represents a deal-breaker, something descriptive like kumquat hybrids would work, but from a review of the literature, Citrofortunella seems still to be used, if only in a historical sense.
