Draft Plan for Filling out Cindy Blackman Biography

[edit]

Tonight started filling out the biography for Cindy Blackman creating four new sections: "Early Musical Training," Plays New York Jazz Clubs," "First Compositions and Recording Contracts," "Debut as a bandleader," and "Other Recordings and Performances" and have filled in some detail for the first subsection. Will plan on doing some research, then coming back to fill out the other subsections. Not going to be in a big hurry on this - want to ensure that everything that goes into the article contains a citation from the start and that way it is a lot easier to maintain later on. Anybody have a photo of Blackman taken at one of her concerts that they are willing to put into public domain? Reservoirhill 20:44, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When I checked in on this article tonight it had a 2-year old "too many quotations" flag on it so I went through and re-organized, slimmed out most of the quotations and made the language a little more neutral. I also added information from the November 2020 Jazz Times article featuring information about her album of the same year. I removed the flag now that the article has been adjusted. I agree with others in this page that there are plenty of photos currently. Would love to see more text generally, particularly around her solo career efforts. Does anybody have a photo of Cindy Blackman?

[edit]

First draft of the article completed. Every statement in the article has a citation. Need to do some more research in a real library to fill in some of the blanks. Does anybody have a photo of Cindy Blackman that they are willing to put into public doamin? Reservoirhill 14:40, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks to me like you have more than enough! However, I think they all are too big, and make the page look unbalanced. Perhaps cropping them a little? --leahtwosaints (talk) 02:08, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
