Ponte delle Saline and flood geology

[edit]

This website attributes the etimology of subject article to the Italian Passo delle Saline which is located at 2,174 meters over the level of the sea ([1]). The socalled ponte del Sale (976 m high) seems to be the recollection of an extracting activity from some salt mines.

Similarly, we know the itinerary named "Cavalieri del sale" at Salsomaggiore Terme. We also know the Cima delle Saline and an extracting activity of salt at high mountains quotes in Switzerland. Possibly, there exists a geological explanation of the presence of salt at such high altitudes and such high level of mineral concentrations without making use of the ancient and obsolet experimetal theory of flood geology. Hope someone more expert will want to help.Philosopher81sp (talk) 19:34, 26 October 2020 (UTC) This is a simple attempt to contribute to the encyclopedia citing the first Gogle results available for an elementar research with the following text "cave di sale in alta montagna".[reply]
