Side Chapel

[edit]

Great start on this. This is a page I wanted to write for sometime and never put the effort into collecting sources. You have done a great job. Also I approve of sfn referencing style! (but it is not consistent. Are we okay to use sfn on this page throughout?) I placed a better source template regarding the warm memorial chapel. This is the right hand side chapel at the front, not the back of the church. The cited source looks like it is self published. I will try to dig something up myself on the matter - the chapel needed vestry approval when it was constructed, so if those are online, that would be perfect. Not holding my breath about finding them online though! Thanks again. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 09:56, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sirfurboy - Thanks, I think it'll pass muster as a Start. We shall see if others try to AfD it! A couple of things while I'm on: re. the sfn, I noticed you sfn'd things like the Cadw/Historic England templates on John Nash. Personally, I tend to sfn book references but not things like those. I'm not saying it's right, but it's been accepted at FAs I've worked on. That said, it's not something I feel strongly about here, so if you think it's better, go right ahead. As to the war memorial, take the point exactly, and I'll also look for a better source. Lastly, what it certainly needs is an interior shot or two. Commons, and Geograph, draw blanks. I've no idea where you reside, but if you are close... All the best. KJP1 (talk) 10:23, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I can't see this being deleted at AfD. It is one of the most notable anglican churches in Wales (allegedly the largest but I will need a source for that!) and the parish church. It is a significant part of the architecture of Laura Place, and one of the town's most prominent landmarks. Pretty sure there are enough sources to defend this robustly. On the matter of sfn, referencing style is meant to be consistent on a page. Page creators get to choose the style, but if it is sfn, it should be sfn throughout. I prefer sfn, but the citation-template style is fine if the citations are thrown to a reflist so that the source can still be readable. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 10:45, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
[1] - This tells me that it had/has? the largest Anglican congregation in Wales. And I’m not remotely worried about AfD! Not sure I get you on sfn, but the technicalities of Wiki are not my strong point, so go right ahead. On your footnote, can we have it in the main body - it’s important enough. Go right ahead. The text I put in the efn is quoted from the source though, so needs quotation marks if in the body. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 10:58, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely need an interior shot. The banding, I like. The TVs on the columns, I don’t like. What’s that about? [2] KJP1 (talk) 17:48, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Short answer is it is the vision system. Long answer might cross into accusations of WP:FORUM so I will go to your talk page. :) Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 19:11, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh and regarding an inside shot you can use - I may have something I can upload to Wikimedia commons, but not from that angle (taken from the tower room). I will see what I can find. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 19:13, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
