1870s restoration

[edit]

The obituary of George Henry Pinckard discusses the 1870s restoration. It was published in 1892, so it should be in the public domain, but I don't know about the transcription from Find My Past. It says the "whole of the upper portion of the fourteenth-century tower was rebuilt, and the bells alone cost £900."
