The first footnote is tosh. If Chrystys said it, she was dreaming. But I doubt even she would have said that. The De rebus Hispanie (or better, Historia gothica, since that's the title the author gave it) is a History, not strictly speaking a Chronicle (where entries are ordered by date). But there is the ninth-century Chronicle of Alfonso III stitched together with a good deal of imagination in the Asturias, so I think the footnote should be put out of its misery.
