Feud with ROH placement
[edit]I will continue to update my section on the CZW/ROH feud as needed, but I was thinking that it would be easier if it had its own article. Of course, it's not imperative yet, as I could always create articles on the feud in the CZW and ROH articles, but after a while the feud will have to be covered somewhere that is not exclusive to Chris Hero. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.Sarge 2.0 23:33, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
Name
[edit]Chris Hero's real first name is William. Chris is his middle name.
I'm not sure where this piece of trivia fits in...I once asked Hero how he came up with the "Chris Hero" name (I'm sorta friends with him even though I haven't talked to him in a few years) He told me he was on his way to a show when the promoter told him he couldnt use the "Wife Beater" name. They stopped for lunch at a Mr. Hero (a sandwich place that I believe is mostly in Ohio) and he took that for his name.
I was Chris's old roommate. I can confirm that his first name is in fact "William" and his middle name is Chris. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.145.150.3 (talk) 13:43, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Signature moves
[edit]Cravate Suplex is when he puts the guy in the cravate, lifts him up, falls backwards and slams him down back/neck first. Hero Hip Dislocator is when he puts the guy on his shoulder in the backbreaker position, takes his arm, flips him around in the air and slams him on his back/hip. Hero Sandwich is what it used to say, the spinning fallaway slam hold into uranage backbreaker, so I don't know why that was removed. And why did you take out Russ Abbot (the "official description" can be found on the Johnny Saint page), and put Lady of the Lake rather than Johnny Saint Special? And Rubix Cube is listed on his official site. Why is it better to take a move off with no description than to leave it on? That's like taking a championship off the list because the company doesn't have a page. Also not sure why Standing Hangman's Clutch and Cravate Cutter were removed. ken (talk) 20:36, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Johnny Saint special and Lady of the Lake are the same move, it's like how the Surfboard is also a Romero special. I removed the others because they were all unwikified and no attempt had been made to figure out exactly what they are. Now that they have moves associated I can do them. --- Lid 23:10, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- Also I don't understand your description of the Hero Hip Dislocater as there are many backbreakers and the most common, the pendulum backbreaker, isn't on the shoulder. Also the description of the cravate suplex doesn't make sense.
- Step by step:
- a. Puts opponent in cravate
- b. Lifts opponent up (how? he is in front of the opponent and a cravates motion would be pulling ::*down on the opponents head. A cravate is a two handed move.)
- c and d. Falls backwards and slams opponent back and neck first (if the opponentnt has been lifted via the cravate then they'd be upside down and Hero falling backwards would slam them CHEST first.
- Also the Russ Abbot was never listed on the Chris Hero move page. --- Lid 02:13, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hero Hip Dislocator: Hero lifts the opponent on his shoulder in a backbreaker, like the way A-Train holds opponents for the Train Wreck. Hero then takes the opponent's arm, throws him off vertically (and at 90 degrees horizontally, so he is now perpendicular to Hero), and while still holding the arm, spins him around 360 degrees (horizontally) so the opponent comes crashing down parallel to the mat, landing on his back, or as the name would suggest, his hip.
- Cravate Suplex step by step:
- a. Opponent is in the cravate, standing perpendicular to Hero, and somewhat bent over
- b. Lifts opponent up - Hero pulls the opponent's head up and towards himself, and the opponent's body moves with the head, so he is elevated off the mat.
- c and d. Hero falls backwards, bringing the opponent with him (the opponent is rotated some amount in order to have his back facing the same way as Hero's), both guys land with their backs facing the mat, the opponent lands more on his neck. I don't know what you mean by upside down.
- Cravate Suplex step by step:
- What I meant by Lady of the Lake and Johnny Saint Special is that I thought Hero calls it Johnny Saint Special. Also, Standing Hangman's Clutch has the opponent's leg trapped as well as the inverted cravate. I didn't realize Russ Abbot was never there, that's odd.
- ken (talk) 16:58, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
- I still need a description of the Rubix Cube and Cravate Buster. I still haven't added the cravate suplex because i'm trying to visualise it but still can't. --- Lid 02:19, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Found a video of cravate suplex and added it, still need cravate buster and rubix cube. --- Lid 05:02, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- Johnny Saint Special and Lady of the Lake are categorically not the same move, not even close. The Saint Special is difficult to describe (and I don't have the time to find a DVD for a quick play-by-play description), but it's basically a double finger interlock then a series of further moves including a leapfrog then backing through the opponent's legs. It's commonly performed by Colt Cabanda and Nigel McGuinness. The Lady of the Lake I've generally seen used by Rocky Romero, and involves the wrestler tying himself up in a knot on the mat, while leaving an arm exposed tempting the other wrestler to grab it. Sasaki 20:49, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- The move you described is the Russ Abbot, seen at Johnny Saint. –– Lid(Talk) 04:43, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've seen dozens of Saint matches, and not once have I heard it referred to as the Russ Abbot. Source for that? Sasaki 14:26, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
- Well as per OWW it's listed as a seperate move and I can't find a listing calling the entire sequence the Johnny Saint Special. I can find several listings of the moves as seperate using the name Russ Abbot, and it's consistant with the antics of Russ Abbot. –– Lid(Talk) 15:23, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
- To whoever keeps adding unsourced moves and nicknames, quit being a chode and find a passable source or sources that corresponds to the info you want to add instead of re-adding moves and nicknames that have been on this article for who knows how long. PCE (talk) 20:19, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Chris Hero
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Chris Hero's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Chris Hero → Kassius Ohno – Spradlin has been known as "Kassius Ohno" since 2011 in FCW. It's a very common name known throughout the world seeing WWE is the #1 pro wrestling company in the world and NXT is basically a third brand Epicneter (talk) 01:19, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose - Has not worked non-stop since 2011 under the name Ohno, left WWE for a few years. Google search results of name+wrestler/wrestling leans in favor for the name Chris Hero. In the grand scheme of things his common name is probably Chris Hero. If he ever makes the main roster I would support the move, but at this point, I do not think so. STATic message me! 01:51, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support - I don't know how significant the name Chris Hero is in indie wrestling. WWE is a giant and Kassius Ohno ring name being used from 2016 in NXT seems enough to consider it household in the current situation. In my opinion, Ohno has overtaken Hero. The difference between NXT and main roster doesn't matter in this context as for the general audience, they are both WWE products. NXT is undoubtedly more significant than other indie promotions and at least 3-4 years of appearance is strong enough for a name change. ImmortalWizard(chat) 14:14, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
- The name Chris Hero is significant in independent wrestling. He wrestled over a dozen years as one of top stars on the independent circuit as Hero, compared to his years not doing much in NXT. I am only stating this because you said you didn't know. The thing is NXT is not household. A very small fraction of the audience watches NXT compared to the main roster so there is a difference. STATic message me! 17:27, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose WWE is the giant of professional wrestling but Ohno is a very minor figure there and has not appeared on their main roster, which is obviously where they get most of their exposure. Although it's a much smaller stage, he was a much bigger player on the indy circuit, and was there for a lot longer.LM2000 (talk) 09:01, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
