Auto accident
[edit]This semi-protection stuff is nonsense. With everybody looking at this page for updates, there's no way that anybody would let unofficial information slide. Instead, I'm forced to read various typographic errors that make this article look like it was written by a second grader because I don't feel like registering for the one or two edits a month I make.75.75.161.181 (talk) 00:18, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
- If people want a minute by minute report of what may be happening, or what is reported to be happening, Wikipedia may not be the right place for them. I do understand your concerns.. but the policies are that unsourced or questionably sourced information is a bad thing, and should be avoided. The two links I took out are questionably sourced, there is no fact-checking, etcetera. Right now, we're waiting for the official word. Once that happens, we'll update the article. - Before anyone else re-adds the death info, please note the following from Fox Sports's Alex Marvez: From what i hear, some jerk made a fake twitter in a reporter's name and posted chris henry died. NOT TRUE. still alive as of 10 mins ago. (this was posted about 7:40 PM on his verified twitter). Alex does describe the situation as "dire" in a foxsports.com article, that Henry is on life support. - Just to follow up. Anyone who is quoting "Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News" for the reports.. you've been taken on this. the Twitter account that was purporting to be him (and the reports of his death came from) has been proven to be fake. SirFozzie (talk) 02:59, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

On December 16, 2009, Henry was involved in an auto acccident where he fell out of the back of his fiancee's pickup truck during a domestic dispute with his fiancee[1] and suffered life-threatening injuries. Why is his death repeatedly referred to as an "accident?" Increasingly, more information has been emerging which strongly suggests his death was a suicide. 98.179.13.13 (talk) 02:48, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think it is considered suicide if someone falls out of a truck and sustains fatal head injuries. It was an accident. Eagles 24/7 (C) 03:10, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
- The quote I'm referring to which is circulating on a variety of news sites: "He was banging on the top, on the doors, screaming at the lady, 'We need to talk,'" Hardy said. "He said, 'If you take off, I'm going to jump off the truck and kill myself.'" It seems to me that when someone threatens to take their own life and is seconds later found dead, the link is somewhat clear.98.179.13.13 (talk) 04:53, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
- As soon as police confirm it to be a suicide, it will be added to the article. At the current time though, it will be considered an accident. Eagles 24/7 (C) 05:36, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

College career statistic
[edit]i was looking around the internet to possibly find some more career stats for henry and i came across this
in the article it states that henry: "In 2003, he earned Big East Conference freshman of the year and All-Big East second-team honors for catching 41 passes and gaining 1,006 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns. He also became the second player in school history to record over 1,000 receiving yards in one season (behind David Saunders), and his 20.19 yards per reception are the third most in a season in school history.[1]"
first, should that be added in the info box on the right in the article, the freshman of the year honor (big east), and the all big east second team honors? maybe or maybe not, im not trying to argue here im just asking the question, no harm or snippyness intended.
secondly, i think that the stat with 20.19 yards per reception may be wrong. here in the school record book, it states that in 2003, he had 24.5 yards per reception in 2003. (page 155)
he is 4th all time in yds per reception, behind: Rich Hollins 1892 27.1 Jay Kearney 1993 25.9 Calvin Phillips 1988 25.5 Chris Henry 2003 24.5
first source (pdf file, pg. 155): http://www.msnsportsnet.com/content/football9.pdf
second source (this states 24.5 as well, he was 3rd in the conference that year w/ 24.5 yds/reception): http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/stats/bycategory?cat=Receiving&sort=15&conference=I-A_BIGE&year=2003

let me know what you think, have a nice day! MACKDIESEL5 (talk) 00:37, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
- upon looking at it again, the source referenced in the article, that source has 20.19 as his average for his whole career at WVU, however the way that the sentence is written makes it seem that he averaged 20.19 in the 2003 season, see what i mean? MACKDIESEL5 (talk) 00:43, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
- noone has replied after a couple days, im going to go ahead and correct the error as i noted above from 20.19 to 24.5 MACKDIESEL5 (talk) 23:34, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

Found a couple of free images that don't show his face, both from 2006: one showing him getting a pass intercepted by Chris McAlister but showing only the back of Henry's jersey, another shows a #15 running out of bounds because of a catch. Andrewlp1991 (talk) 08:11, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
I nominate that this picture be changed. I do not think it is very appropriate to have a picture of another player making an interception on him. Death - confusing sentence
[edit]"On December 16, 2009, Henry sustained fatal injuries when he fell out of the back of a moving truck driven by his fiancee, Loleini Tonga, and his friend Sam Pahnisch, while they were engaged in a domestic dispute"
This opening sentence from the section is confusing about who was driving (naming 2 people who were both apparently driving).
It is also confusing about who was having the domestic dispute (it appears to say that Tonga and Pahnisch were having the dispute).
My inference is that Tonga was driving, and she was having the dispute with Henry, but I'm not confident enough of the facts to make a change to the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.243.80.180 (talk) 05:53, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
Death- likely incorrect
[edit]"While several former NFL players had been found to have the disease after their deaths, Henry was believed to be the first still-active NFL player to have it."
It seems unlikely that many reputable experts would suggest no NFL player has ever had CTE while active. CTE can only be diagnosed on death, thus any active player who did not die prior to retirement would not be diagnosed with CTE. Additionally, CTE would need to be assessed in the first place so many active players who have died in the past might not have had their brains assessed for CTE.
The sentence should read:
"While several former NFL players had been found to have the disease after their deaths, Henry is the first still-active NFL player to be diagnosed with it."
I will make this edit, but this is my rational. Cauchybro (talk) 00:14, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
