Hello! Thank you for submitting this article for a Good Article Nomination. However, I will have to quick fail this article based on verification and broad coverage.
Verification
[edit]- "He began his career as an animator with Disney in 1978" - has a citation needed next to the sentence
- There are three paragraphs that do not have any sources in the Life and career section. These paragraphs start with "Besides his work as a co-director on Tarzan and Frozen,", "Buck helped develop several films at Hyperion Pictures" and "Buck's credits include a number of animated commercials"
- "for which Giaimo would go on to win the Annie Award for Best Production Design in an Animated Feature Production." - need source
- "It was released in November 2019." - needs a source.
Reliable sources
[edit]All of the Filmography and Accolades sections are solely cited with IMDB. Per WP:RS/IMDB and Wikipedia:Citing IMDb, IMDB is generally not accepted as a source. Therefore, a better source is needed for these sections.
Broad coverage
[edit]- There's quite a bit of his movies missing in the prose in the life and career section. Primarily, most of his 1980s animations are not mentioned including The Fox and the Hound and The Black Cauldron despite being full movies.
- In the personal life section, there is a bit too much detailed in regards to his son Ryder. I think this needs to be summarized as this is Chris Buck's article, not his son's article. Particularly, the exact details of Ryder's death, what was his jobs and his cancer seems like too much to include in this article.
Overall
[edit]Overall, my main concern is with the three unsourced paragraphs and missing information about Chris Buck's 1980s animated movies. While there is also the issue of citing IMDB for two entire sections, and having too much detail about his son Ryder, my main concern is about the big amount of missing citations. If both of these criteria were worked on, this article would have a better chance at a GAN. Please feel free to work on this article and improve the content/sources.
