poire d'Angoisse or poire d'angoisse?

Did the choke pear originally come from the place called Angoisse? Or was it originally called a "pear of anguish", and attribution to the place called Angoisse was folk etymology? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 06:05, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
