Talk:Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference
{{helpme}} I was going to blank this redirect page in order to trigger speedy delete, as the page is a redirect in effect to itself. It's an old page. I hadn't figured exactly how it came to be but its existence seemed (a) plausible and (b) out of date. BUT I then asked, How does this even happen, two pages of the same name? NOT plausible. So I've gone with "help me[, please]".
For reference, WP:SPEEDY doesn't seem to address this particular reason, rare as it may be (unique?), for speedy deletion. I'll correct that omission if the delete goes through and I get the nod at my talk page, where I'm going to duplicate this note.
It would seem maybe possible for a bot to check for like instances and eliminate them.

- They're not identical: the apostrophe in "People's" is curly (single closing quote) in this one, and straight (normal keyboard apostrophe) in the other. This is a valid redirect and should be kept. JohnCD (talk) 17:05, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks! If I'd read it 3-4 more times I maybe would have zeroed in. (At least I figured out I needed help.) I am familiar with the form diff.; quote marks similarly. But I'd been under the impression Wikipedia "read through" the differences. It seems not, partic. in searches, as per Apostrophes and Quotation marks sections of MOS. Thanks again.
