Removed text
[edit]I have removed the following text from the article as it refers to a different building:
Before the Newspaper
The Chicago Daily Defender Newspaper was not the purpose for creating the building. It's purpose was to serve as the headquaters for the Illinois Automobile Club. This building was one of the last auto-related buildings made. In the basement of the building there was a very large pool area, which was soon turned into the room for printing presses when the Chicago Defender newspaper acquired the building in the 1950s. This was the Chicago's defender third location. The newspaper would stay in this location fro about five decades.
The Architect
The architect of the building is Philip Maher. Philip Maher designed the building in 1936 as the Illinois Automobile Club [IAC]. He built the building so that it had a corner clock tower. Inside the building were club meeting rooms and offices, a basement fitness center and an Olympic-stze swimming pool, plus a private residence on the third floor.
