[edit]Hmmm. I found the cherry picker definition for what is gender-specifically called a man lift. But what I was looking for was the definition related to sports. The cherry picker is the player that hovers around the opposing team's goal when his team is defending their own goal. If his team regains possesion of the ball, a quick pass to the cherry picker gives him an easy shot, because the other team cannot get back on defense in time.--—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 141.248.88.241 (talk • contribs) .
This...sort of happens to me. Since my school's field is too small, my classmates decided that playing with offsides was just not an option. Taking hold of that advantage, I "cherry pick", as they call it, and score about 3-8 goals each time. It's tormenting, half of my friends don't like this, half of them do (Whom are on my team, of course.). Luckily, it's wet here, so we don't play much of it anymore, and I don't get much of it as well. =). User:GamePlayer623

Picker
[edit]One who slects treasures from trash. One man's trash (or accumulated junk) is another man's opportunity to revitalize and reintroduce for a profit.Malmbarb1 (talk) 02:23, 1 August 2010 (UTC).
what you described in this "cherry picker" article is really a "boom lift" or "man lift". A cherry picker is more like a mobile crane, not meant to lift humans. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.164.48.28 (talk) 14:08, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
