Similar Building
[edit]I used to think this building was quite unique architecturally, but then I saw the Sompo Japan Building in Tokyo. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sompo_Japan_Building Are these the only two buildings in the world that look like this? --71.131.19.160 (talk) 06:08, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
No, the Solow Building in New York City has a similar curved facade. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solow_Building — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.251.245.226 (talk) 23:23, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
I grew up in Chicago and then lived in Tokyo for ten years, and I always had the same feeling: It seems like the architect of the Sompo Japan Building copied the Chase Tower. Of course back in the day they were called the First National Bank Building and the Yasuda Marine & Fire Insurance Building. I guess there is no such thing as a copyright on a building design. The Solow building and the main building at Fermilab have somewhat similar curving designs, but the Sompo Japan Building looks almost like an exact copy of the Chase Tower. --Westwind273 (talk) 03:36, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
- Also Grace Building in New York has a similar facade as well (same architect as Solow Building). This should be noted in the article (the curved facade) Triplecaña (talk) 00:02, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
