Page updated with comprehensive and newly researched information
[edit]Hello
My edits to this page were flagged and removed by a volunteer who assumed I was a paid advocate of Charlotte Verity. I responded to tell them that this wasn't the case, that I was not being compensated for the information and such information wasn't promotional. Having had no response from the volunteer for over a week, I have restored my edits to the page. The edits provide an informative and balanced account of the artist's work. All additions are researched and corroborated with reliable sources. For these reasons, I believed this version of the page should be restored as it offers the best opportunity to learn about the artist. I hope you can agree with this and allow the page to stay up. Thank you.
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}
).

Proposed changes
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
- Information to be added:
Title should be Biography.
Born in Germany, Verity attended the Slade School of Art from 1973 to 1977 and won a Slade prize in her final year. In 1978 she was awarded the Boise Travel Scholarship to study in Italy.[2] Since graduating from the Slade, Verity has been a regular exhibitor in group shows including, John Moores Painting Prize, the Whitechapel Gallery Open, the Hayward Annual[1], Discerning Eye[2] and the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition[3]. She has had solo exhibitions with Anne Berthoud Gallery[4] (1984, 1988, 1990) and Browse and Darby[5] (1998, 2002, 2007)[3]; and more recently with Purdy Hicks, London[6] ( 2016), the Garden Museum[7], London (2011 and 2018) and the New Art Centre[8], Wiltshire (2019). In 2001, Verity began teaching at the Royal Drawing School in London where she remains on the faculty.[9] In 2010, she was commissioned by Sir John Soane’s Museum to paint a portrait of its former Director, Margaret Richardson.[10] A monograph on her work, Charlotte Verity, was published by Ridinghouse, in November 2016 with texts by artist Garry Fabian Miller, art historian Paul Hills[11] and artist Edmund de Waal.[12] Verity is married to the artist Sir Christopher Le Brun PPRA and they have three children.
- Explanation of issue: Tweaking original text to correct mistakes such as 'Boise Travel Scholarship,' include missing references and develop information for more comprehensive overview. Exhibits as a title isn't indicative of the text. Adding up to date information about exhibition history each reference takes the reader to more information and illustrations of the work.
Some references omitted because they already feature on the existing page, e.g. Whitechapel Open.
