[edit]In the article for Charles Taylor Sherman, brother of William Tecumseh Sherman, it states that he and his wife Eliza Williams had the following children: "seven children: Mary Hoyt, who became the wife of Gen. Nelson A. Miles U.S. Army; Henry Stoddard, who became a Cleveland attorney; John J., who became a U. S. Marshal in New Mexico; Charles F. Cook who died in infancy; Anna Wallace, who died at the age of 20 in 1870; Eliza A. Williams, who married Colgate Hoyt of Cleveland; and Elizabeth Bancroft, who married James D. Cameron , a U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania".
In the article for Hoyt Sherman, brother of William Tecumseh Sherman, it states that he and his wife Sara Elvira Moulton had the following children: "daughters by his marriage to Sara Elvira Moulton were Mary Hoyt Sherman, married to Nelson Appleton Miles , and Adaline Moulton Sherman, married to Frank Bestow Wiborg,".
Note that if this is true then both brothers had a daughter named "Mary Hoyt" and that both daughters married "Nelson Appleton Miles". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.168.6.143 (talk) 20:06, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
