The phrase "oldest Semitic inscription known" seems to over-look the extensive Babelonian writings, going back to 2500 B.C. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.177.253.233 (talk) 12:35, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Babylonians/Mesopotamians weren't Semites though, as far as I know. The Amorites were, but I don't think they left any inscriptions (different from texts) before this. There really aren't any Semitic inscriptions we know of that predate the Mesha Steele. Cornelius (talk) 17:28, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tiara of Saitaferne

[edit]

I think that the details about the Tiara of Saitaferne should be moved to that entry, rather than this entry. --PloniAlmoni (talk) 12:25, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the Tiara page says it was bought for 200,000 francs (gold if that makes a difference). Here it says 400,000. Cornelius (talk) 17:29, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
