What is it
[edit]what is it... kerosene?? sure smells like it... --Kvuo 00:35, 27 September 2006 (UTC) IMHO Charcoal lighter fluid and pre-soaked charcoal should be banned. It poisons the food and the environment, wastes petroleum and is unnecessary with chimney starters or just a large tin can. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.123.204.56 (talk) 02:38, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- The article says what it is. Maybe it did not when you asked. BTW, per WP policy, the talk pages are for discussion of the article, not general discussion of the subject. Arbalest Mike (talk) 18:07, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- The article no longer says what it is. It would make the article more interesting if it included something about the various types. SlowJog (talk) 01:32, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Lighter fluid is now much weaker
[edit]This is probably due to enviro regulations. Wont catch like it used to. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ericg33 (talk • contribs) 21:32, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Composition of lighter fluid
[edit]I was always told it was MethylCyclohexane. Anyway I found a reference at https://ilrc.ucf.edu/print_sample_list.php with all the formulations, FYI. 96.69.194.115 (talk) 02:11, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
That photo shows fuel for wick lighters like Zippos, NOT charcoal lighter fluid.
[edit]That Ronsonol stuff is a distillate close to gasoline, not the kerosene-like product that is charcoal lighter fluid. It's lighter fuel, it says so right on the bottle. Why is it there??
- I noticed that, and so removed the picture from this article. SlowJog (talk) 01:29, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
