Since this album title is a literary reference I think it important to state and explain reference at beginning of entry. It is buried here.
Also, this is incorrect in stating: "The album's title came from a quotation from Isadore Ducasse (writing as Comte de Lautréamont) describing surrealism."
Ducasse can't "describe" Surrealism as that art movement didn't come into being for another 50 years or so. His expression was appropriated BY the Surrealists I believe. Angvou 11:15, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Well, there's absolutely no need for an explanation of the album's title to be at the beginning of the article. As a rule albums are recorded first and titled afterwards so it is entirely correct to detail the recording prior to any discussion of the title phrase. Ac@osr 23:22, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
The fact is that this TITLE is REFERENCING something OLDER, and (arguably) more SIGNIFICANT than this work itself. This particular article should not be the only Wikipedia entry for this phrase-- the title should be linked, or explicated more thoroughly up front. I'm totally new to this wikicommenting/writing or I'd try doing it myself... Angvou 09:43, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Well, I suggest firstly that you stop shouting at people and secondly that you read WP:NPOV and establish from there if your opinion on this matter is just that or if it can be shown to an appropriate standard that a single phrase from Comte de Lautréamont's writing is truly worth a whole article of itself. The statement "The title comes from André Breton's famous description of Comte de Lautréamont's poetry," is incorrect. Andre Breton did not say this, it comes from Lautréamont's Les Chants de Maldoror, though much quoted by the Surrealists. Since there's a later paragraph in the article that deals with this, I will just delete that sentence from the beginning. Vlad the Impaler (talk) 12:35, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
