"Trunkless"
This article claims that these palms are "trunkless", but later suggests that the "trunk" "moves across the ground". That's contradictory.
I'm not sure what the best way to say this is, but I will say: having some growing at home and at the office(s), these palms CAN grow a stem, as each time an old front dies, there is left behind a stem mark and the "stem" is higher than before. I would suggest, also based on other readings, that we re-write this to include that a "short stem may form in mature palms but these tend to follow the ground or cliff face rather than grow erect freely". The stem that has formed on some of my cat palms is in the range of 1-3 inches in height although the palm is only about 4-5 years old.Ryoung122 23:44, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
