Hack chaise

[edit]

What about a hack chaise? Google's top hits for that term all refer to Austen's Pride and Prejudice. That's why I looked it up , in fact. And does anyone have a picture?-- tbc (talk) 00:22, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The OED indicates that this is compound name rather than a separate type of carriage. It's a chaise pulled by a hack (a horse let out for hire).Mighty Antar (talk) 00:09, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with Cabriolet (carriage)

[edit]

Maybe I'm just missing something, but I fail to see the different between Cabriolet (carriage) and Chaise. Are they synonyms? Can we merge the two? - Themightyquill (talk) 12:29, 12 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Merging Horse and buggy might also be considered. - Themightyquill (talk) 13:34, 12 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Moved Whiskey and Shay into this article

[edit]

I merged Whiskey (carriage) and One-horse shay into this article since they are both chaises and content was fairly minimal.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 02:14, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
