Chainat Province → Chai Nat Province – According to the Announcement of the Royal Institute dated 6 July 2000 on Writing of the Names of Changwats (Provinces), Khets (Bangkok Districts), Amphoes (Provincial Districts), and King Amphoes (Provincial Subdistricts), as published in the Government Gazette dated 14 September 2000, page 8. Notes: The announcement is based on the Royal Thai General System of Transcription which is generally used on Wikipedia. --Relisted. - Support. The Royal Institute of Thailand has no authority on Wikipedia, but the references listed at WP:WIAN do. See here or here. The eigenvector (talk) 22:49, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

- Support as I already supported at Talk:Buriram#Requested moves; see all the arguments there (especially WP:WIAN with reference to Britannica and the GNS/BGN register). --RJFF (talk) 20:02, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

Meaning of Chai Nat
[edit]Just to say that 'Chai Nat' doesn't mean 'place of victory' as said in the article. The name 'Chai Nat' means 'ringing of victory', 'resounding of victory', etc. It is from जय (jaya; 'victory') + नाद (nāda; 'loud sound, roaring, bellowing, plangency, etc.'). --iudexvivorum (talk) 07:07, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
