[edit]This article misses a lot of points and is highly biased against the CRPF. First of the mistakes I am going to edit soon now is the date of the passage of the CRPF Act. The actual date is 28th of December 1949 and not 31st December 1949 as mentioned.
Secondly, it is wrong to say, as mentioned, that CRPF is a weak or incapable force and could not deal with the Jihadi insurgency in Kashmir. The main reason for the induction of the BSF in Kashmir was that the bulk of the CRPF was already committed to combating insurgency in Punjab and the North-Easter states, and more manpower from CRPF was not available.
Thirdly, regarding the capability of the CRPF, the achievements include the ones, which even the Indian Army would envy. For instance, in the 1965 Indo-Pak war two companies (containing approx. 150 men in total) of the 2nd Battalion of CRPF defeated an entire infantry brigade (containing approx. 1600 men) of Pakistan Army.
Fourthly, on 13th December, 2002, the CRPF men killed all five Jihadi suicide attackers when they stormed and attacked the Indian Parliament.
Fifthly, as recently as in 2005, the CRPF troops killed all Jihadi suicide attackers, who stormed the Ram temple at Ayodhya.
With all the aforementioned achievements, I do not think CRPF can ever be branded as incapable or such word be used to corroborate baseless ideas as shown on the page.
Weapons used by CRPF
[edit]Someone has added following weapons of which I found supporting evidence of use by CRPF so I have removed them 1) Chinese type 56 and 81 assault rifles- why would CRPF use Chinese weapons? 2)H&K G3A3 Assault rifle and MP5 submachine gun 3)Uzi submachine gun 4)RPG 7 --Nikhil Sanjay Bapat (talk) 17:11, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

The elite COBRA force of CRPF(to deal anti naxal ops) is also having advanced GPS systems besides having multi shot grenade launchers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.198.224.208 (talk) 12:11, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Can any one tell why BSF has been deployed for Anti-Naxal Operations when a specialized force CoBRA was
raised in CRPF for the purpose. Isn't this force alone capable of handling the Naxal situation?
If not, then why the public money was wasted in raising such force?
Concurrance with above article :
[edit]Weapons used will be the Indian clones of the ak-47 or akm assault rifle designiatd as the ak-7's. Indian made clones of the FN-FAL automatic rifle and the locally prodiced svd-59 will be used to provide some long range infantry fire power. Chinese weapons are not used at all, territorial disputes . —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.165.125.94 (talk) 11:54, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
[edit]Why was this article moved from Central Reserve Police Force to Central Reserve Police Force (India)? Is there another so named force anywhere in the world?100.11.77.202 (talk) 01:24, 28 November 2019 (UTC)
