Two Pipelines?
[edit]I'm confused. There's a news story here which talks about the "Caspian gas pipeline" which hasn't been built yet. I get the impression that this will be a completely new and separate pipeline from the Central Asia-Centre gas pipeline, as opposed to simply a "renovation and expansion of the western branch" of the CA-Centre pipleline. Is this the case, or no? Otebig (talk) 17:46, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- Central Asia-Centre pipeline is actually not a single pipeline, but a system of several pipelines. The western branch, which was built in 1974, is officially Central Asia-Centre-3 pipeline. The new pipeline (having several names in English as Caspian pipeline, North Caspian pipeline, Pre-Caspian pipeline, Caspian Littoral pipeline, Caspian shore pipeline, Caspian Coastal pipeline or Prikaspisky pipeline) is technically second pipe of the Central Asia-Centre-3 pipeline and its will run parallel to existing pipeline. At the same time, the existing pipeline will be totally renovated. So, they are maybe legally different pipelines by different names, but technically this is the same western branch of CAC pipeline and it's logical to keep all this information at the same article. Maybe it will be more precise to rename this article to Central Asia-Centre gas transportation system?Beagel (talk) 18:33, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
