Several species
[edit]There are 8 other species of Cnicus recognized by "The Plant List"., and this genus could have a page separate from Cnicus benedictus. Nadiatalent (talk) 18:27, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
Propose opening a "Other Uses" section
[edit]For instance, a review of various studies of Blessed Thistle, has referenced it's use as a biodiesel. Questioning if this is a good enough source to cite. Please advise. "PubmedReview".
- What does it say? Alexbrn (talk) 05:24, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
- Sentence in the abstract is "Due to all these factors, the whole plant is used e.g. as animal feed, the leaves can be eaten in salads and seed oil, besides culinary uses, can be also utilized for biodiesel or polymer production." My opinion is that is speculative, and not worth a mention in the Wikipedia article. More to the crux of the matter, the PubMed abstract is about Blessed Milk Thistle, which is an entirely different species. David notMD (talk) 16:12, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
