Population: province vs island?
Province infobox has little under 3 million, while island infobox has little under 4 million. The island is marked to have exactly 1,040,173 more than the province, which should not be possible. The province infobox has its area same than the main island, while later reads this: The province's land area is 4,944 square kilometres, which is almost 500 more... 88.114.246.209 (talk) 20:46, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, there are some errors here. I will examine it tomorrow. But note that the province does not include Cebu City, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu. And Cebu island should not include data for Mactan, Bantayan, Camotes and other outlying islands. -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 21:24, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- At one time there was a separate article for Cebu Island, but it was merged here. Maybe we should restore it, seeing that the province and island are not coterminous. -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 21:29, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Correction made at Wikidata for the province's area (4,943.72 km2). And yes, the province population is indeed over a million people less than the island since the independent cities of Cebu and Mactan are excluded (their populations are 922,611 and 362,654 respectively). -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 20:46, 24 November 2016 (UTC)
