Fair use rationale for Image:Casting-crowns.cac.jpg

[edit]

Image:Casting-crowns.cac.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

Overall, this article is in outstanding shape. I didn't check every single ref, because there are so MANY of them, but it strikes me that this could have been nominated without needing to be quite this polished. Without any suggestions to make, this becomes just a certification process, rather than the collaborative evaluation that I actually like better than just rubber-stamping articles.

  1. Is it reasonably well written?
    A. Prose quality:
    Fine.
    B. MoS compliance for lead, layout, words to watch, fiction, and lists:
    Fine.
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. References to sources:
    Good.
    B. Citation of reliable sources where necessary:
    Good.
    C. No original research:
    Good.
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
    Fine.
    B. Focused:
    Fine.
  4. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
I actually didn't know that anyone in the industry didn't like the album. Good job finding some not-entirely-positive commentary for NPOV.
  5. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
    Fine.
  6. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are copyright tagged, and non-free images have fair use rationales:
File:American Dream.ogg and File:03 Who Am I.ogg both need FURs for this article. Whew! I thought I was going to get all the way through this article without finding anything to nitpick! :-) I know they're not "images" per se, but we need to use FURs appropriately on any media that needs it. I'll see about updating the rules to make this explicit.
    B. Images are provided where possible and appropriate, with suitable captions:
    Fine.
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
On hold for the trivial corrections needed. :-) Jclemens (talk) 05:37, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And with the FURs added... pass. Jclemens (talk) 15:45, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
