Requested move 29 May 2018
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
Not moved. Don't see general agreement to rename the "Casa Linda..." article and call that "no consensus" to move. See consensus not to move the "Ola..." article. So both articles will retain their present titles. Ola, Texas will become a disambiguation page with two entries. Have a Great Day and Happy Publishing! – Casa Linda Estates, Dallas should be moved to Casa Linda, Texas per WP:USPLACE. Casa Linda is no longer called "Ola", so Ola, Kaufman County, Texas should be moved to Ola, Texas over the redirect (there is distinguish hatnote at the current Ola, Kaufman County, Texas). - Not sure on the first proposal–is there any evidence of this? The external site linked from the article still uses "Casa Linda Estates." Inclined to oppose the second move: whether a name is current or former shouldn't have much bearing on whether or not disambiguation is necessary. If readers and editors tend to mean Casa Linda Estates, Dallas (or Casa Linda, Texas) when they look for Ola, Texas, then the redirect does not need to be altered. Perhaps there are other reasons to move the second page, but this does not seem to be sufficient. Dekimasuよ! 20:45, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Dekimasu: Sorry not to be clear about the first proposal: it's not the "Estates" bit that's wrong, it's the "Dallas" bit, because "Articles on populated places in the United States are typically titled Placename, State." Casa Linda Estates, Texas would be fine. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 06:08, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
- If the request is for Casa Linda Estates, Texas, then I would oppose if this is actually in Dallas, and support if it is not actually in Dallas, in line with what Amakuru has written below. The article seems to indicate that the area was annexed by Dallas before the current name came into use. Dekimasuよ! 21:06, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose first per other entries in Category:Neighborhoods in East Dallas. As this is not an incorporated place in its own right, but merely a suburb of Dallas, it seems preferable to disambiguate that it's part of Dallas rather than in the state of Texas. Also oppose second per Dekimasu. The Ola in Kaufman County appears to be tiny and it's likely that people will still be looking for the renamed neighbourhood under that title. We could instead change it to a disambiguation page though, I suspect neither of them is the primary topic for Ola. — Amakuru (talk) 09:29, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
