Notability concerns
[edit]Can someone please explain to me the notability of this person ? Having been the first coach of Fischer does not sound enough to me. SyG 13:39, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- As no one has given an explanation yet, I have added a "notability" box directly on the article. SyG 16:17, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
- It's also worth noting that the geocities page in the External links section is not a WP:RS reliable source. Carmine Nigro is mentioned in connection with the young Bobby Fischer (Brady's Profile of a Prodigy, for instance), but this might not be sufficient for WP:BIO. Quale 15:27, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Someone had deleted the notability flag, but without adding any reference to assess notability. So I put the flag back. SyG (talk) 20:52, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
I disagree. He is notable. Nigro was mentioned in a good number of Fischer's obituaries and Nigro himself was given an obit in The New York Times [1]. It seems that the old media thinks he's notable. BrokenSegue 23:00, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Master?
[edit] Resolved
The article says he was a master. But if his best rating was 2028, he wasn't a master. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 20:54, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
