Merger proposal
[edit]I propose to merge Cardiff Bay (The Flourish) railway station into Cardiff Bay railway station. Notifying editors @Our Phellap, Rhobat Bryn, Bwlch y Groes, and Sionk:
Discussion
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- To merge Cardiff Bay (The Flourish) railway station to here; in effect, the same station with a new building. Klbrain (talk) 06:43, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
Nominate for merger – I think that the content in the former The Flourish article can easily be explained in an 'extension' section in this article.
- It is nearly a duplicate of this page - The name of both stations is now identical, and the article already states that when the one station closes, the other will open, and as a result there will not be two Cardiff Bay station entities.
- There is much overlap as both stations are related - Better to merge it now rather than in a few years time, as this enables a single wiki article on the future state of Cardiff Bay railway station. Also avoids confusion of having two near identical stations with separate articles.
- The Flourish article is rather short on detail and there is insufficient information about the new station to justify it having an independent article Llemiles (talk) 18:45, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
Merge – I agree. Originally this page was added because it was going to be a new station under a different name, but the plans have since changed and it's now keeping the same name. It's essentially a relocation of the current station, about 100 yards down the road, so it doesn't need a separate page. Bwlch y Groes (talk) 19:01, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
Support - It's a development that may happen in several years time and, until it both becomes inevitable and achieves it's own notability, it's best as a paragraph in the Cardiff Bay railway station article. Sionk (talk) 14:36, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
- Support - This seems to be a relocation of the same station to me. I'd also note that Filton Abbey Wood provides precedent here as it covers both the modern station and two previous iterations of the Filton station a few chains apart. -mattbuck (Talk) 21:16, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
- Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 06:43, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
