Reactions
[edit]No ref for Trudeau. Can we please stop with the wall of "thoughts and prayers" reactions? --LaserLegs (talk) 00:22, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
- The Canadian response does require a source and if one is not found soon it will be removed, but if a country's representative responds with simply "thoughts and prayers" then that is what will be displayed, even though it is disappointing. BrendonTheWizard (talk) 00:43, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
- I'm just generally opposed to what amounts to boiler plate diplomatic responses from foreign governments. Domestic responses ... fine. --76.122.98.135 (talk) 00:59, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
- Trudeau's quote was enormous. Now it's summarized. Nobody needs a verbatim quote when every reader who's ever read one of these knows what they say. InedibleHulk (talk) 07:03, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
WTF?
[edit]It's time for the media to understand that somebody saying that they are a terrorist does not make them a terrorist. lo prenu .katmakrofan. (talk) 23:55, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
- Actually, self-identification is fair play.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 03:33, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- The defining characteristic of terrorism that differentiates it from other attacks is the motivation (specifically if the action was politically or religiously motivated). If the perpetrator identifies themselves as a terrorist, then it is in fact terrorism by definition. BrendonTheWizard (talk) 06:50, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- Lakdim specifically and by name demanded the release of Salah Abdeslam. That is terrorism, case in point. –Vami_IV✠ 09:38, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- And he also claimed he was acting on behalf of Islamic State, and their unofficial-but-widely-recognized news outlet claimed him as one of their own.Tlhslobus (talk) 10:41, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
How did he get in UE?
