Result table
[edit]Somehow Wesley So's row in the table in the section "Results" is not properly displayed. I couldn't find any obvious mistakes in the code. Can someone with a bit more expertise please fix this. Thank you.

Time Control
[edit]As of now, this article doesn't talk about the time control. Shouldn't it be added somewhere? PrithviMS (talk) 06:37, 12 March 2018 (UTC) PrithviMS (talk) 06:37, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
Advance to title match
[edit]The page was showing Caruana advance to title match after 13 rounds. This has been reverted. As far as I can tell, Mamedyarov and Karjakin are still very much in contention. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.7.66.199 (talk) 18:06, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
It is super confusing to highlight the person listed in first listed in the table as advancing to the championship, since the table contains the name of someone who may or may not finish in first. I ended up going to the main site just to verify that, indeed, the result had not been decided. Regardless of how football tables may or may not be done, I don't think the highlight belongs there until the match is decided. Since it looks like 104.7.6.199 did not actually revert the change, I am going to revert the change. lisa butterfly (talk) 20:07, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
- I agree. It does not make sense to say that Caruana advances yet. He is not guaranteed to advance, and we will only know who advances tomorrow once the 14th round is played. /wiae /tlk 20:22, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
- Try to remove the colour highlights from 2017–18 Premier League first. The color means how much teams/players could qualify to the next round, it doesn't mean who qualified already (see sports module help or any football table for example). Letter Q is in use for qualified teams/players, letter E for eliminated. P.S. See also this discussion for very good proposition about "confusion" due to use of colour. 91.124.117.29 (talk) 20:37, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
- There are now at least three people who disagree with you and believe this table is misleading as it stands. I do not need to edit football league tables, as those are apparently known and expected to be the way you say. Perhaps it's confusing for this particular table because in this instance, only one person qualifies rather there there being multiple stages of qualifying. Regardless, the way the chart is now is confusing and has led so far to at least three people caring enough to comment on the talk page (104.7.66.199, wiae, and myself) that the table seems to show Caruana advancing. Just because it's clear to you doesn't mean it's clear to everyone. Please do something to fix this so we don't mislead people unfamiliar with the sports tables (probably not an insignificant portion of folks checking the Candidates results) into thinking Caruana has already won the match. lisa butterfly (talk) 20:44, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
- If we use "sports module" here then we use their symbols, colours etc, I think. If not, creation of similar chess table module is good solution. I changed the bg colour to lightgrey and description to "First place will be promoted to title match". Ok now? 91.124.117.29 (talk) 20:55, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
- Yes it looks fantastic, thank you so much! lisa butterfly (talk) 20:57, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
- I think this looks better as well. /wiae /tlk 22:24, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
- I didn't realise there had been a discussion until I did it, but any "advance to title match" at all is misleading until it's happened. I've put SB score in that column instead. Adpete (talk) 23:12, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
Openings for the results
[edit]Technically I can do this myself (I know where the info is - it's at http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chess.pl?tid=92582 ). The only problem is I can't find where in the code to make a column for it.211.27.126.189 (talk) 10:14, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
