CANSOFCOM
[edit]The Canadian Special Operations Force Command (CANSOFCOM) will be capable of responding to terrorism and threats to Canadians and Canadian interests around the world.
CANSOFCOM will be composed of Joint Task Force 2 (JTF2), the Canadian Forces’ elite tier 1 special operations and counterterrorism unit The Canadian Special Operations Regiment (CSOR) a highly agile tier 2 special operations unit; 427 Special Operations Aviation Squadron (427 SOAS) a special operations aviation capability centred on helicopters; The Canadian Joint Incident Response Unit, a Joint Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defence unit ; and supporting land and maritime forces. CANSOFCOM will be capable of operating as an independent formation but its primary focus will be to generate Special Operations Forces (SOF) elements to support Canada Command (Canada COM) and the Canadian Expeditionary Forces Command (CEFCOM). Integrating special operations forces in this manner will increase their impact in operations, as well as the range of options available to the government in the deployment of the Canadian Forces.
Will be?
[edit]The article lists no dates as of when the CANSOFCOM will be doing anything (i.e. coming into action or existence), nor does it explain the process which may have led to this formation. LordAmeth 18:12, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Canadian Special Operations Force Command → Canadian Special Operations Forces Command — This page does not reflect the official name. It is Forces Command, not Force Command. Ng.j 14:37, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Survey - in support of the move

Unverified Claim
[edit]My last edit was because the claim (MND confirms creation of Marine Commando Regiment) made was unverified, I can't find a reference for it, if anyone has one please insert it.Josh Hooch 23:56, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
Also I suggest getting rid of the link to the uncreated Marine Commando Regiment page, unless it is moved from the "units comprising CANSOFCOM"... as far as I have read, this unit has not been created yet and therefore should not be part of the units that make up CANSOFCOM Josh Hooch 00:00, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
