[edit]The original Calgary Tower structure was not designed by Gibbs Gage Architects. Gibbs Gage is currently responsible for the construction and renovation of other towers in the Palliser Square complex, hence the reference to Gibbs Gage on emporis.com. The original Calgary Tower structure was designed by W.G. Milne, A. Dale and Associates. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.144.196.36 (talk) 00:31, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
The photo of the "revolving restaurant" is inaccurate. That photo is of the bar and grill that sits on the second floor overlooking the observation deck. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.144.196.36 (talk) 20:56, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Tallest Building
[edit]The sentence, "It opened to the public on June 30, 1968 as the tallest structure in Calgary, and the tallest in Canada outside Toronto" is technically correct, because at the time of opening, it was true. However, multiple taller buildings have since been built in Montreal. Should this sentence be changed to clarify its meaning? Flipster14191 (talk) 18:13, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
Comparison with Tower of the Americas
[edit]The paragraph beginning "Upon completion, the Husky Tower stood 190.8 m (626 ft) tall and was the tallest structure of its type in North America" is largely false and/or misleading, because the Tower of the Americas is taller and was completed a few months earlier. The mix-up seems to result from a clever (but again, false) sleight of hand between roof height and antenna height, but by comparing like-for-like the Tower of the Americas is significantly taller in any metric:
Roof height, Tower of the Americas - 190m
Roof height, Calgary Tower - 171m
Antenna height, Tower of the Americas - 229m
Antenna height, Calgary Tower - 190.8m
The part of the paragraph that is true is that there was a friendly rivalry as the two towers were being built and publicized. Maybe the spirit of that could be kept in a revision. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:590:d2d0:d147:f724:19c:a7f3 (talk) 19:20, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
