Image accuracy discussion
[edit]@106.69.251.239 removed the image in the infobox, claiming it is not accurate. Would @Gpkp or @User:Gderrin like to dispute this? I am not knowledgeable enough on the subject to judge. Toadspike (talk) 09:27, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- I have reverted the image removal per WP:BRD, hopefully we can clarify this quickly. Toadspike (talk) 09:31, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- The image on this page was of Caladenia rosella and appears on the C. rosella page. Plants of the World Online lists Caladenia rosea as an accepted species, but it is not accepted by the Australian Plant Census or by the Western Australian Herbarium. Gderrin (talk) 03:36, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
This orchid is known as Caladenia × spectabilis in Australia
[edit]Caladenia rosea is an accepted species at Plants of the World Online but is regarded as a synonym of Caladenia × spectabilis by both the Australian Plant Census and the Western Australian Herbarium. As at 13 October, there are no references for the section "Description", "Taxonomy and naming" (apart from "not accepted by Florabase"), "Distribution and habitat" or "Ecology" (although referenced in the lead paragraph). I propose to rewrite this article, as "regarded as a synonym of Caladenia × spectabilis" by the Australian Plant Census" and the Western Australian Herbarium.
