A fact from Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 23 November 2006. The text of the entry was as follows:

Marine total area
[edit]As per the official Spanish Marine Reservations website, the marine tract of the reservation covers 4,613 has. (see external link), not 12,000 as stated. However, it may have been enlarged and the info on that page become outdated. Mountolive 03:09, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- My mistake: I rechecked and, actually 4,613 has. are protected as a marine-only reserve, while some 8,000 are protected as the marine tract of the Natural Park itself (which is both terrestrial and marine). In other words, there is a total of 12,000 has of marine protected area, under two different concepts but this is the correct figure anyway. Mountolive 05:53, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

etymology
[edit]google translate can be wrestled with the help of line breaks to yield that cabo means cape (not outside) and that gata/gato mean cat,
but the google ai seems pretty determined to supply results for niger rather than Níjar.
This page makes it clear that the town and park take their name for the word for carpenter in Arabic.

- I guess that etymology also belongs at the Níjar article. Incidentally there is a mention of Nijar here, which might also be usefully added. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:23, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
The article seems fine to me
