@Steam5: I've undone some recent edits that replaced "San Francisco Bay Area" with "San Francisco". While I understand that San Francisco is more well-known nationally and internationally and less of a mouthful, it's misleading to describe the pandemic as being in San Francisco, since the hotspot is actually in a larger neighboring metropolitan area (San Jose) that's also part of the Bay Area. At the same time, I'd rather not call it "COVID-19 pandemic in San Jose, California", because most of the aspects of this pandemic are being coordinated Bay Area–wide. Additionally, it would be nice to have consistency with Wikimedia Commons, where we've created separate categories for the Bay Area versus the City and County of San Francisco specifically. I don't think there's much precedent to use "City and County of San Francisco" explicitly in article titles and categories in Wikimedia projects. – Minh Nguyễn💬20:17, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Steam5: You've explicitly undone edits over the reservations of three different users. Please come and discuss your reasons on this talk page instead of engaging in what could be considered an edit war. I also do not understand the need for names to be "shortened" as you keep bringing up. Abbreviations shouldn't be prioritized over completeness, accuracy and consistency with established norms set on other geographical pages for the Bay Area region. Should you desire a shorter name, you can always create the appropriate redirect instead of renaming a page inaccurately. EndlessCoffee54 (talk) 07:01, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
