Article Name?
[edit]It seems odd that though she is best known by her stage name, the title for this article is her proper name (unlike the articles for Bono, Prince, Eminem, etc.) The French article is called Coeur de Pirate. For consistency's sake, I think this article should probably also be called Coeur de Pirate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.101.185.167 (talk) 05:33, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
- Speaking as the original creator, I wouldn't be opposed to that; I originally used the Béatrice Martin title because it wasn't quite clear, in the sources that were available at the time, whether the name "Coeur de pirate" was a stage name for her, or the name of a band that she, under her own name, was the leader of. And it just never got moved once that uncertainty was clarified. Bearcat (talk) 07:39, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
Discography

Lead Section
[edit]I think it's a little too extensive, some of the information could be easily put in a 'Career' or 'Personal Life' section. What do you think? män-et-arms (talk) 15:39, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

Private Life & Controversy
[edit]It's known and it's been reported in many media that Coeur de Pirate appeared on nude pictures for the website GodsGirls.com while she was a minor. She herself talked about it on "Tout le monde en parle" and in Montreal's daily newspaper "La Presse" as well as Belgian newspaper "Le Soir". Still, mention of these events keep being removed from her english wikipedia page, last time being erased without the possibility of bringing them back, alleging possible "vandalism" even when sources were always present and even if new ones were added. That's a bit confusing since it's known, has been widely reported and the artist herself aknowledged it. There seems to be someone who doesn't want this info here and who keeps removing it Terveetkadet (talk) 15:06, 8 July 2016 (UTC)
- See the WP:BLP policy. Also, the material removed yesterday was a copyright violation pasted from a blog under an anon IP @Diannaa:. Karst (talk) 15:12, 8 July 2016 (UTC)
@Karst: Added that info again, that was widely reported in the media in Belgium, Canada and France. Added some reliable sources where thay talk about those pictures. I suspect some people related to Béatrice Martin, maybe her girlfriend Laura Jane Grace, keeps removing those info or having them removed even if they're true and sourced. Terveetkadet (talk)
@Karst: I'm pretty sure Lifesfun is Laura Jane Grace, singer for Against Me! and Béatrice Martin's girlfriend since that user tried to add many obscure demos from Against Me! on the band's page only to have them removed. Terveetkadet (talk)
- @Lifesfun: that's not true. But some of those things could be considered defamatory, true or not.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Lifesfun (talk • contribs) 17:08, July 12, 2016 (UTC)
- No, actually, truth can not be defamatory, per definition. I restored the content. Vanjagenije (talk) 19:13, 26 June 2017 (UTC)
While it might be acceptable for the entry to reference the nude photos taken as a minor, I think that the section should be re-written so as to avoid reference to the site on which they were hosted, the number of photos, and the username under which the photos were posted, etc. Such information seems primarily intended to direct persons to the pictures in question. I have, for now, removed the entire section as it currently lists much more information than is expedient and adds little value to the entry. --Titerabrel (talk) 04:10, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
