Singles section

[edit]

I'm not sure if describing the music videos with so much detail is useful. Would it be ok to cut it down? 174.89.5.89 (talk) 14:27, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Background Check

[edit]

The background story on this album has no verification. I've been searching for articles that back it up and haven't managed to find anything. Both references also link to the Rolling Stone's main page, not to the specified articles. Can anyone varify this story?.--Enso (talk) 00:00, 23 August 2011 (GMT) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.193.107.83 (talk)

Add subheading for background?

[edit]

This section would have some background information on the band.--Madelinehake (talk) 20:04, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't that information be more appropriate for the the Black Keys page? PerfesserC (talk) 17:44, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"It should not be assumed that the reader is familiar with the artist's history and/or previously released albums" From the Wikiprojects Album page Madelinehake (talk) 04:07, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I added the subtitle background with just a brief list of the previous albums the band has made and also discussing the conflicts the band was having previous to the making of the album Brothers. It also speaks of the importance of the album name.-music54 I revised my edit by taking out the repeating reference citations. After reading on how to edit I saw that you shouldn't cite the same reference more than once in the body of you writing. Add subheading for singles

[edit]

Which would include highest chart positions each single has been at, music video information, lyric information, performances of the song, etc. etc. --Madelinehake (talk) 05:53, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Media?

[edit]

This article needs to include more media. I added a photo of the Black Keys performing live in Las Vegas in February of 2011. The photo was taken by myself.-Music54 I added a link to the official music video for tighten up under the singles subtitle after the description of the music video. -music54 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Music54 (talkcontribs) 16:09, 7 April 2011 (UTC) My first attempt at adding a link to the official music video was reverted. I have decided to change my source to the official black keys website where their official "Tighten Up" video is released and I included this link under the external links section of the article. --music54 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Music54 (talkcontribs) 19:48, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Brothers (The Black Keys album)Brothers (album) — The only album titled Brothers, so does not need "The Black Keys" disambig. Mike99999979 15:14, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

I thought of it immediately after I read the announced title of the album, but no one's pointed it out as of now. The title of the album, the cover, and the formal "facts" text in the Tighten Up video are an homage to The Howlin' Wolf Album. Shouldn't it be mentioned in the article? 98.243.208.146 (talk) 02:22, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Trimming the lead

[edit]

There's a long rambling passage in the lead which feels like a direct response to some specific praise/criticism of the album. It's unsourced, likely non-neutral, and incoherent at the end, so I'm removing it. Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 15:56, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Pardon my inability to edit well, but "She's Long Gone" is played at least once (and I believe twice) in the series: "Person of Interest." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8803:2B09:9C00:F0EB:6D2B:58AC:D08E (talk) 05:19, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Packaging

[edit]

In the last sentence of the Packaging section, I found it interesting that Muscle Shoals uses Cooper Black, but is it really necessary to list every other artist that has used this very common font on an album cover? Just sayin' - FiggazWithAttitude (talk) 17:43, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
