Brandon Miller (motorcyclist) → Brandon Nozaki Miller – Per Wikipedia:Natural disambiguation. Mr. Miller is known as a software developer as well as a motorcyclist. Sources often refer to him by his full name. gnu57 17:18, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
- Since there is an active AfD discussion going on, it seems premature to be discussing this. The article certainly should not be moved during the AfD process, since that can be disruptive. AndyTheGrump (talk) 18:09, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
Procedural close per pending AfD; several !voters (including myself) have supported this move in that discussion. -"Ghost of Dan Gurney" 00:32, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
- Can this be resumed? I support the proposed rename. EnPassant♟♙ (talk) 14:58, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- No one actually closed this, so yeah I guess lol! I support a move to Brandon Nozaki Miller or to Brandon Nozaki-Miller as that is how he is named in some sources including Motorcycle.com -"Ghost of Dan Gurney" 15:01, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- Can this be resumed? I support the proposed rename. EnPassant♟♙ (talk) 14:58, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
Why does this exist?
[edit]Is it allowed to write an autobiography article on Wikipedia? 181.105.67.146 (talk) 07:20, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- I would argue that this is no longer an WP:AUTOBIO given that it has been edited heavily to the point of being completely revamped, and the article creator has not edited on wikipedia in almost 3 years. -"Ghost of Dan Gurney" 11:21, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
March 2022 node-ipc malware incident
[edit]This section confuses the peacenotwar module with the exposure of a security hole in the nodejs supply chain. The security hole exposed could not actually execute as it was wrapped in several layers of security including an API key which was invalid preventing code execution. I was also in direct contact with Snyc and discussed their articles with them. I was also in contact with several other journalists related to this. The overdramatized and confusing way in which the articles were released resulted in government policy changes related to cyber security as well as global changes to protect critical infrastructure in the financial sectors.
I also released a tool to detect exposure to this sort of issue in their own systems for those concerned. It not only finds the exposure but also shows what node modules it is related to.

- The peace not war module is licensed, well documented and its full code history is public. It has no capacity to do anything other than create a text file which reads :
- --CAME FROM peacenotwar module--
- Module Link: https://github.com/RIAEvangelist/peacenotwar
- I pledge that this module, to the best of my knowledge and skills, does not do any damage to anyone's data. If you do not like what this module does, please just lock your dependencies to any of my work or other's which includes this module, to a version you have code reviewed and deemed acceptable for your needs. Also, please code-review your other modules for vulnerabilities.

How is the peacenotwar software not "malicious"?
[edit]User AndyTheGrump inserted in 2022 that the peacenotwar malware was only "alleged" to have been malicious, and maintains those words on the article if removed. In light of this fact I welcome user AndyTheGrump to explain how code that is designed to destroy user data depending on their IP address is merely "alleged" to be malicious, rather than being patently malicious and against the spirit of FOSS. 2600:6C50:4E7F:C131:51FE:BFBB:6205:FA92 (talk) 21:50, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
- Can you provide a link to any of the lines of code in the peacenotwar module, fully open sourced on github, which do what you are claiming it does? If not, I move that the word "alleged" is more than accurate because people are falsely claiming that peacenotwar does these things. It does certainly sound dramatic and could be easy to believe for someone that has not looked through the code to check the drama for themselves. About as accurate as saying one has the best words, everybody says so. "Alleged" seems as accurate as it can get due to the drama surrounding the stories which seems to have had a major impact on cybersecurity and thorough code reviews resulting in the surfacing of several DPRK active and malicious supply chain attacks to name just one thing, well... it was actually several packages... 2600:1700:2D27:3500:487A:619:CE4C:44FD (talk) 06:36, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
General Notability
[edit]Do the Google search results suffice? It is mostly a mix of software and motorcycles. There are a LOT of second and third party articles as well as a google person profile.
