Football history

The football history needs to say something about 1905 Washburn vs. Fairmount football game that happened in the prior year. Technically it was Fairmount that threw the first legal forward pass. Also see Forward pass for historical discussions. • SbmeirowTalk21:00, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The game in question (according to the cited article) was an experimental game. The rules for college football did not change until after the 1905 season. Therefore, while experimentation may have been legal, the pass was not a legal play in football until the 1906 season. Ruedetocqueville (talk) 15:35, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
